Schools We Support

Sosua Kids currently gives direct support to just one school - in the suburb of Los Castillos, situated on the left of the main road to Puerto Plata, just after you leave Sosúa Abajo. The school receives 2 donations of 10,000 pesos each year. The Director of this pre-school uses these funds to provide scholarships and half scholarships for some students who otherwise would not be able to attend. (The cost to attend is 400 pesos per month and most of the parents are from the working poor).

Until recently we also administered the funds  provided by our partner in The Netherlands, The Help Sosua Kids Go To School Foundation Www.sosuakids2school.nl/index.php/start in order to provide salaries for the teachers at the private Asher School in La Unión.  Although our help is no longer needed for this purpose, we are proud to have been associated with the work of this Foundation, which continues to be one of our most generous donors.
